Home.

This past October my closest and dearest of friends of mine took a trip to the Appalachian Mountains in NC and had the best time ever. I feel like it was such a positive turning point in my life and I wouldn't trade that trip for the world. That trip was home. Here's a few shots my best friend, Abby Oliver (you can see her work here), caught of us during our travels.

September's Past

Wow. Life gets busy when your nineteen, in school full time, have two internships and a job to report to! As of next month I'll be completely finished with core classes and it's all arts and entrepreneurship classes from then on out. You could say I'm pretty excited. I feel like getting all of the general crap done a semester early and not borrowing any money for student loans is like my way of sticking it to the man. Oh yeah, you can believe I'm an angsty, reckless youth.

In other news I recently visited the Yosemite of Carolina: Wilson Creek. It was my first real trip with friends that we put together and paid for all on our own. It was probably the most liberating thing I've done to date. We went where nature called us and time was on the side of adventure. I couldn't have envisioned a more perfect trip.

Maybe the most important news of all is that I'm a new mom. Right after my trip last month I adopted the sweetest, fuzziest, bossiest kitten in the rap game. Her name is Luna and she's my new pride and joy. Believe me when I say I've never been more soccer mom than I am when I post multiple cat photos just to prove to the world that my cat is the best cat.

Anyway, very similar to, but vastly different from all the other times I've said I'll be posting more regularly, I'll be posting more regularly from here on out. I've realized that I put too much emphasis on it instead of letting my blog grow organically from the ground up. So cheers to the older(?), wiser(??) Haley. Mazel tov!

Double Layer Brick

Here's a sneak peek of a shoot I did with my pride n' joy, Karli Owens. Can you believe the style this gal has? She snagged her lacy button up and those killer vintage docs while we went thrifting the other day. Get ready for a little back to schooling from the queen bee herself! In the meantime go follow her on Instagram: @qurli

Love Child

A few weeks ago I modeled for a photographer friend of mine Luke Tew. He's so good and I was so excited when he asked me to shoot! With some help from his sugar sweet sis, Janna, we also got some awesome behind the scenes footage too. Working with the Tews is like working with a fashion dream team- they're always on point. Here's a couple of my faves from the shoot. If you like what you see, go check out Luke's work, here, to be even more blown away by this guys work!

Seaboard

It's halfway through August already? No way; it can't be. I started my fall classes today. I feel like this year- this summer especially- has gone by so quick. It makes me excited and nervous for the next years of my life. How much further will I be this time next year? Whatever may be, I'm so grateful for the life I've experienced thus far and can't wait to see what unfolds in the future ahead.

Double Vision

Sara and Katherine Christian are some of the most beautiful gals I've ever met. It's obvious on their exteriors, but their real beauty is in their spirits. They're my oldest friends and they're so loving and accepting of everyone. I was so happy to finally shoot with them this past week and take them on their first trip to Britt's Donuts- the best donuts in town and arguably the best donuts ever! We had a blast chasing the sun and dancing under the moon. Aaand there may or may not some stop motion footage of this magic.. For now, enjoy these gems!

Sun Life

What fun it is to have such a beautiful life. I'm ever grateful for the things I've experienced and the people I get to experience them with. It's so easy to get distracted by my fears and insecurities that I sometimes forget how lucky I am to be who I am, where I am. No one else can fill my shoes, just as I cannot fill anyone else's. We are all specific and intentionally placed in our world to be our own and to make it something extraordinary.

Yesterday I got to dual shoot with my best friend Abby Oliver in a giant field of sunflowers. It was magical.
