Sun Life

What fun it is to have such a beautiful life. I'm ever grateful for the things I've experienced and the people I get to experience them with. It's so easy to get distracted by my fears and insecurities that I sometimes forget how lucky I am to be who I am, where I am. No one else can fill my shoes, just as I cannot fill anyone else's. We are all specific and intentionally placed in our world to be our own and to make it something extraordinary.

Ancora Qui

  Digging through old photos is so much fun. I found this gem of Lilly Hawfield earlier and couldn't resist posting it. What a hot little sea kitten.

  Life update: I'm in summer school right now and it's causing the strangest mix of emotions; morbid, productive, relieving, terrible. I just really don't know how I feel about it. On the surface I'm like, "Yes! 20 days, 9 credit hours, let's do this!" and then I think about it longer and my Biology class is five hours long and I still have homework for it... I think it's something I would recommend but with fair warning.

  As for art, my passions have been creeping up to a boil in my heart. I want to draw, paint, sing, tear apart, build up, rip, glue, photograph, repeat. I want to see the country and perpetually have flowers in my hair. That's what I really want to do.

  Despite college, I have had such a liberating summer so far; honestly. I've grown to know the sun and the sea more than I ever have before. I left my job I've had for the past three summers because it made me feel oppressed and miserable and tired. I don't have a job at all right now because I'm at school most of the week. But I've still had bills to pay! At first I was scared to quit my job, but I knew it just wasn't where I needed to be. Since I quit, all of this money has been coming to me in random, unexpected ways! It's always just enough too. How awesome is that? I've totally let go of stressing over money and have instead been trusting the big guy to take care of me. What a freeing experience.

  On top of that I've been wanting to join the Bikram Hot Yoga studio in town for forever but I obviously haven't had the money. What do you know? The studio has a Karma Krew, where you clean the studio one night a week in exchange for unlimited free yoga! My first class is tonight.

I can't believe how actively my life has been growing and changing and becoming more like what I've always hoped it to be. I'm a blessed soul indeed.

Cross Rings and Moped Gangs

Did I ever show you guys my shoot with Wind Blown? I didn't think so. The location was such a blast and Rachel, the founder and designer, was such a joy to work with. She's so bubbly and adorable. Anywho, not only did I shoot the products, but my best friend and fellow photographer, Abby Oliver, and I took turns modelling it! And the fun didn't stop there, Rachel's manfriends Kenny and Judson of Danger Ranger Moped Club brought some of their mopeds for us! Can. you. dig. it?! Here's a few of the final shots; enjoy!

Sun Lines

Here's another set we did at the cinemas a few weeks ago. The flamingo tank is Forever21; the neon skirt is vintage, and the shoes are from Bones- a really awesome and locally owned online boutique. Beach Baby

Penny is single handedly responsible for my love for babies. I was honestly grossed out and terrified of babies before I met this sweet little angel. Its already apparent that she has the biggest heart and has the sweetest laugh. Its crazy to she how fast she grows. I took these photos only a few weeks ago, and she's already grown two more teeth since! Seeing how quickly she grows and how much love she radiates really makes me appreciate how precious time is.

Stairways

Here they are! This shoot was such a blast; Johanna and Lilly were gorgeous and modelling seemed effortless to them. It was also interesting because Lilly is also a photographer- super talented. She's already gotten some of her shots in a few magazines! So, there's definitely going to be a few behind the scenes shots later this week. Other than shooting, I've just been super busy preparing for school this fall, working as a maid for the rich and famous, and working on some hot, hot, hot DIYs for you all to enjoy. Yay summertime!
